Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  This is a highly effective approach for a wide range of conditions.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on values and living a full and meaningful life.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on managing strong emotions and improving relationships.

Schema Focused Therapy

Schema Focused Therapy works on identifying and resolving unhelpful ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that were learnt in childhood.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) focuses on reducing the ongoing impact of negative life experiences by aiding the brain to shift these experiences into long-term memory and changing your perception of them.

Emotional Freedom Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques (aka Tapping) focuses on using psychological acupuncture to transform unresolved issues, overcome self-limiting beliefs and behaviours, and enhance physical and psychological wellbeing and personal success.

Confidentiality

All information collected by us about your situation will be kept private and confidential.  However, if you are referred by a GP, we will need to provide the GP with updates and feedback about your progress.  We will discuss with you what feedback is included.

We will not share your information with any other parties unless we have your explicit consent to do so.  There are some exceptional circumstances where we may need to provide information to third parties without your consent.  These include imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, risk of harm to children, and where required by law.  We will discuss confidentiality with you at the first session.  Please ask if you have any questions.

Referrals

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate, if a Mental Health Care Plan has been developed for you by a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician and you have a valid referral.

Fees

Our priority is to provide you with the highest standard of psychological care. Consultation fees depend on the service you are accessing and the qualifications of your psychologist. Please note that we are not a bulk-billing service and payment is required at the time of consultation, by EFTPOS, cash or credit card.

Therapy

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan and a valid referral from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician you can access a Medicare rebate, which will substantially reduce the cost of your appointments. Medicare rebates are processed electronically and are typically paid by Medicare within 24 hours of your appointment.

Clients accessing therapy via Worker’s Compensation Schemes, Victims Support Services or NDIS do not pay an out of pocket fee however third party fees apply. Please contact us if you are unsure which fee applies to you.

Reports

The cost of a report from your psychologist is dependent on the complexity involved and the time taken to prepare the report. Please contact us for an approximate quote. Please note, we do not provide medico-legal reports.
